Best Times To Visit

Spring is a magical time in Charleston, South Carolina, and there are many festivals just a short drive away from Folly Beach.  Visitors can enjoy the Charleston Food and Wine Festival and train for the Cooper River Bridge Run in March, attend the Charleston Jazz Festival and North Charleston Arts Fest in April, and enjoy Charleston's famous Spoleto and Piccolo Spoleto festivals in May.

Summer is, of course, the busy season for Charleston and Folly Beach.  This season brings in warm, humid weather and bathwater-warm ocean water.  Restaurants are busiest during the summer season, and visitors to Miss Caroline's may not want to leave Folly Island, as traffic can be a bit of a nuisance.  However Folly Island has everything you could want or need in a vacation, from watering holes to excellent restaurants to coffee shops and ice cream parlors, with bike, golf cart, surfboard, and boogie board rentals everywhere you look.

Autumn is a transitional period in Charleston and on Folly Island, and the area offers compelling festivals this time of year:  In September and October, visitors can enjoy the Moja Arts Festival and Boone Hall Corn Maze.  And in November, visitors can enjoy the Food and Wine Classic and Holiday Festival of Lights.

Winter is, of course, our slow season, but that doesn't mean there isn't tons to do.  For heat-sensitive visitors, I recommend the quiet winter months for a solitary stroll on Folly Beach.  December offers visitors plenty of chances to explore holiday lights, and there is even a Flip Flop Drop on New Year's Eve.  January is a month for introverts, but foodies will enjoy Charleston Restaurant Week.  In February, Miss Caroline's would love to host you while you explore the famous Southeastern Wildlife Exposition!
